Remnants of hurricane to bring warm weather to the UK this week

Translate

North-westerly winds over the weekend meant it felt rather cool in many areas, but with southerly winds on Monday comes milder conditions to most parts. Temperatures will peak at 14 to 19 Celsius, slightly above the mid-October average of 12-16C.

However, weather fronts tied in with the southerly winds mean that most areas will be cloudy with occasional spells of rain or drizzle. Sunshine will be fairly limited with areas around north-east Scotland, east Wales, the West Midlands and the north coast of Northern Ireland most favoured for some sunny breaks.

A warm night will follow with temperatures only dropping a few degrees, but heavier bursts of rain are expected to develop through the night.

Overnight rain will then sweep across the UK through Tuesday morning. In the sunnier weather that follows, temperatures are likely to hit the low 20s in southern and eastern counties of England, with 23C possible in parts of East Anglia.
