DAP reps must meet KPIs or risk being dropped from GE16 line-up, says Loke

IPOH: DAP elected representatives must meet strict key performance indicators (KPIs) or risk being dropped as candidates in the next general election.

DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke said all party representatives must discharge their duties with integrity, discipline, and commitment, warning that failing to meet required standards could cost them their nomination letters.

"If they fail to meet their KPIs, they will not receive a nomination letter to contest in the next election," he said at the 24th Perak DAP Convention at the Ipoh Convention Centre here today. Also present was Perak DAP chairman Nga Kor Ming.

At a press conference later, Loke said DAP has implemented a stringent monitoring system to ensure all elected representatives deliver results for the people.

He said the KPIs cover community service, constituency work, party activities, organisational strengthening, and, most importantly, ground presence.

"I believe the system we have implemented has been very effective. Perak DAP is very active on the ground, and our elected representatives are working continuously," he said.

"Of course, if anyone is less active, we will ensure that changes are made.

"Through this system, we will constantly remind them that if their performance is unsatisfactory, the likelihood of them being dropped as candidates will be higher."

Loke said the system places continuous pressure on elected representatives to perform to the best of their abilities and fulfil their mandate to the people.

He added that while the monitoring mechanism is enforced nationwide, each state adopts its own approach.

"Yes, it applies nationwide. Each state has its own monitoring mechanism. However, what I want to emphasise is that DAP Perak's monitoring system is particularly strict.

"I believe this has had a positive impact, with our elected representatives remaining active on the ground. Wherever there are shortcomings, we ensure that they make improvements," he said.

On seat allocation among Pakatan Harapan component parties for the upcoming Melaka election, Loke said the matter has been finalised at the state level.
