The bodies of a man and a woman were found in separate portions of the Tarlac River in Tarlac City on Wednesday.
In the report of CJ Torida in GMA Regional TV One North Central Luzon on Thursday, the body of an 86-year old man, a resident of Barangay San Vicente, was found on Wednesday evening.
The senior citizen was reported by his family as missing on September 23, prompting them to ask authorities to ask for help in searching for him.
Police are investigating the cause of his death.
“According to his son baka tatawid siya ng ilog kasi ang sabi ng anak niya baka hihingi ng pera sa kapatid niya sa kabilang baryo,” said Police Lt. Col. Glen Santiago, Tarlac City Police Station chief.
(His son said the victim could have crossed the river to ask money from a sibling who lives in the next barrio.)
Meanwhile, the body of an unidentified woman was found in another part of the river, also on Wednesday.
The remains were discovered in Barangay Salapungan. It is believed the woman is a drowning victim but an investigation is ongoing.
