Magnitude 4.4 earthquake jolts Leyte, Samar


TACLOBAN CITY — A magnitude 4.4 earthquake was felt in parts of Leyte and Samar provinces on Sept. 17, with the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reporting no expected damage or aftershocks.
Phivolcs said the tectonic earthquake struck at 3:59 p.m., with its epicenter traced to Leyte, Leyte.

The quake was felt at Intensity III in Kananga and Villaba and at Intensity II in Alangalang and Ormoc City, all in Leyte.

It was also felt at Intensity I in San Jorge and Villarreal, both in Samar.
