Spain men’s football team head coach Luis de la Fuente has signed a contract extension till 2032, the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) said on Monday.
The 65-year-old took charge of the side from Luis Enrique, following the team’s exit from the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar. He has since then guided Spain to the UEFA Nations League 2022-23, Euro 2024 and FIFA World Cup 2026 titles.

This will be the longest tenure ever by a Spanish head coach, with De la Fuente set to lead the nation at three more major tournaments: the 2028 European Championship, the 2030 World Cup and the 2032 European Championship.
“We’re talking about the most successful head coach in the history of the national team, and after fourteen years with us, this is something Luis de la Fuente deserves, a long-term future at the RFEF,” said Rafael Louzan, chair of the RFEF’s board of directors.
