Napoli confirm that Stanislav Lobotka has suffered a low-grade ankle injury and, according to reports in Italy, the 31-year-old will remain out of action for four to eight weeks.
Slovakia international Lobotka sustained the injury during Napoli’s away Serie A game at Monza on Wednesday, and the Italian club has now revealed its extent.

Napoli said in an official statement on Thursday that Lobotka’s exams this morning showed an “injury to the distal tibiofibular syndesmosis without instability, associated with a low-grade injury to the anterior talofibular ligament (ATFL) in his left ankle.”
Reports on the midfielder’s recovery time are mixed; according to Corriere dello Sport, Lobotka will need at least one month to return to action, while other sources, including TMW, say it may take up to two months to regain full fitness.

Lobotka was stretchered off in tears at the U Power Stadium last night. Napoli eventually won the game 4-1.
The 31-year-old has scored one goal in 12 appearances across all competitions this season. His contract at the Stadio Maradona runs out in June, but Napoli can extend it for a further campaign.
