Election Nostradamus Nate Silver says he has sneaking suspicion Trump will quit White House before his term ends… after correctly predicting 'blue tsunami'

Elections guru Nate Silver predicted Donald Trump might quit before his term runs out with the Democrats having swept into power for his final two years in office.

The former ABC contributor accurately predicted a 'blue tsunami' ahead of the Tuesday elections, which saw the Democrats win at least 54 Senate seats and 250 House seats, with some contests still to be determined.

On his podcast, Still Counting, he laid out an environment where Trump might retire with time left to serve.

'I had just a weird intuition that maybe Trump will find some pretense to quit, you know what I mean? Because he could get very, very, very isolated, and that also could make him dangerous,' Silver said.

Silver said that while Trump is not 'evil,' he did give the Republicans a bargain that he now can no longer deliver on.

'I just think that Republicans made — I was searching for a more original metaphor — but a deal with the devil in Trump, right? And I don’t mean that to mean that he’s evil. I mean that in the sense of, like, you get your three Supreme Court justices, you get tax breaks for the wealthy, but you pay a lot of f***ing price for that,' he said.

Silver also accused Trump of having 'sucked out the oxygen from anybody else in the Republican Party.'

He also thinks that Trump might step aside to allow JD Vance to assume incumbency status.

Silver said that it will be strange to watch Trump's last two years because 'he has lost the fear factor' and the leverage he has on Republicans.

Former Fox News anchor Gretchen Carlson called the theory 'not that far fetched.'

The Daily Mail has reached out to the White House for comment.

Silver had been bullish on liberals' chances to overtake the GOP in the November 3 elections, with his model three weeks ago giving the party a 94 percent chance of winning the House and a 75 percent chance of taking the Senate.

Speaking to Ezra Klein of The New York Times, he said a Democrat sweep could be 'momentous.'

'If the election goes roughly as the polls say it will go, then in some ways it would mark the end of the Trump era, I think,' Silver said.

While Silver acknowledged that Trump will 'still be President for two more years,' those results would leave him 'a super lame duck' akin to George W Bush after the 2006 midterms.

Silver said that states like Kansas and Texas flipping blue could provide 'generational turnover.'

What impact do you think Trump’s possible early exit would have on America’s political future?

What's your view?

'After 2024, there was talk of a permanent conservative vibe shift, that Democrats were on their back heels and Biden had failed and wokeness was dumb,' he said.

The prognosticator cited New York Times/Siena polls on the final day before the elections to suggest a 'blue tsunami' was coming on his Silver Bulletin newsletter.

Democrats have gained 40 seats already in the House with 27 contests still on the board, as well as a shocking seven Senate seats with two more still favoring them left to be decided.

The Democrats flipped Senate seats in states where they hadn't won in decades, including Texas, South Carolina and a once in a century victory in Kansas.

They could still potentially win two more in Mississippi and Alaska if late returns go their way.

Similarly, they have 253 confirmed House seats, a gain of 38 so far, with 25 more seats remaining on the board.

The Democrats have also won the governor's mansion in 29 states, giving them a majority for the first time in 16 years.

They also gained 'trifectas' in several new states, where they now control every branch of state government.

Trump himself has blamed bad candidates and him not being on the ballot for the losses, while others have put it on the President's policies and the Iran War.
