Daniel Craig buys 'haunted' 18th century London pub

James Bond actor Daniel Craig has bought a London pub supposedly haunted by a hangman’s ghost.
The 58-year-old star became the co-owner of The Horseshoe - a 250-year-old pub in Clerkenwell.
Other co-owners include Soho House owner Nick Jones, Charlie Carroll, Flat Iron steakhouse founder and Justin O’Shea, and the creative director of Craig’s lager brand Bad Belze.
Fittingly enough for the Spectre actor, it was reportedly revealed after purchase that the pub is home to a spirit living in the cellar of the property.

Landlady Pauline Tucker has admitted that the spooky lodger wasn't mentioned to Craig and his co-owners at the time of the sale.
“You don’t see him. You feel him,” she said.
Speaking to The Times, Craig joked that he wasn’t concerned about the ghost, saying: “I don’t know what he drinks but we might have to leave a pint down there: "Here you are Gilbert".”
Craig is following in the footsteps of his parents and grandparents, who both ran pubs in his hometown of Cheshire.
Craig said he spent much of his childhood in his family’s pubs, telling The Times: “There were lock-ins and things, especially on New Year’s Eve. People used to party quite hard.
“I grew up in pubs. You know the ups and downs of a pub. I know the good and the bad of it.
“As a kid I’d get to go down and talk to the locals, especially at lunchtime, and it was always about the day, what’s going on. It’s an outlet for people to come and talk about stuff, maybe their problems.”
Craig said he plans to refurbish the pub but clarified that he won't be turning The Horseshoe into a modern gastropub.
Following a fifteen-year stint as 007, Craig is now set to star in Greta Gerwig's upcoming adaptation of C S Lewis's The Chronicles of Narnia, as the magician Uncle Andrew Ketterley.
There has been constant speculation as to who might replace Craig as Bond, with 35-year-old The Capture star Callum Turner as the front runner.
Other stars rumoured to pick up the 00 mantel have included Euphoria’s Jacob Elordi, Gladiator II star Paul Mescal, and even former Superman Henry Cavill, who was in the running before Craig.
