Pokémon Terrarium Officially Announced For October 2026

Pokémon fans have probably lost track of all the major announcements made this year during the franchise's 30th anniversary celebrations. The festivities kicked into high gear on Pokémon Day, when Pokémon Winds & Waves were officially revealed as Gen 10's newest rollout, bringing the series to Nintendo Switch 2 with a new open-world RPG adventure planned for 2027.

The celebrations continued throughout the summer, culminating in August's Pokémon World Championships in San Francisco and the inaugural PokémonXP, a massive fan-focused event held alongside Worlds featuring panels, exhibits, cosplay, workshops, etc. The Pokémon TCG has also received one of the year's biggest releases with 30th Celebration, a commemorative expansion featuring more than 150 cards, anniversary artwork, special Pikachu cards, and a Classic Collection celebrating three decades of the trading card game.

Now, fans will want to mark their calendars for next month for the official launch of Pokémon's new Terrarium release, yet another 30th anniversary launch to keep the good times rolling.

Pokémon's 30th anniversary celebrations are getting another collectible release with Re-Ment's new Pokémon Terrarium Collection (via SiliconEra), a six-piece blind-box lineup centered entirely on the franchise's original 151 creatures. The collection is available now in Japan for ¥1,650 per figure, with a Western rollout following in October.

The collection features six different miniature displays:

• Bulbasaur with Oddish
• Charmander with Diglett
• Pikachu with Caterpie
• Squirtle
• Vulpix
• Mew

Each Pokémon appears inside one of Re-Ment's signature transparent PokéBall-style terrariums, with environments themed around each character inside. The bases have also been updated with special Pokémon 30th anniversary branding, giving the set a commemorative look distinct from the standard Terrarium Collection releases.

Interestingly, these aren't entirely new dioramas, as the lineup revisits figures originally released as part of Pokémon Terrarium Collection 10 in 2022, but packages them with redesigned anniversary base pieces specifically for the milestone year. That also explains the heavy Kanto focus, making the collection something of a tribute to Gen 1's legacy and the era that started it all.

Western collectors won't have to wait much longer to get their hands on them. U.S. retailers are listing the collection for an estimated October 2026 release, while Amazon pre-orders for a complete set of six are currently expected to arrive between October 5 and October 9. Some specialty retailers are also offering sealed six-pack boxes that contain all six designs, which eliminates the randomness normally associated with individual blind-box purchases, though it takes some of the fun out of the experience as well.

It's a relatively small addition to Pokémon's enormous anniversary lineup, but one that leans particularly hard into nostalgia by bringing the original generation back into the spotlight.
