MANILA, Philippines – The family of Juan Carlos Manalo is asking for help in searching for the Filipino doctor, as they said he has been missing and out of contact after a devastating flash flood hit the Nepal-Tibet border on Wednesday, August 26.

“Please help us look for my brother,” his sister, Chiara, posted on Facebook on Friday, August 28, adding that seeing the news about the catastrophe has been very difficult for them.

She said Juan Carlos, a 30-year-old general physician who is into yoga and meditation, last contacted their family on Tuesday afternoon, August 25.  

Speaking to DZBB, Chiara said his brother messaged their family group chat, “Good morning,” as it was still morning in Nepal at the time.

“He was traveling with the Isha Sadghuru group on their Kailashyatra tour. The group’s last known [whereabouts] was at the Immigration Office at Gyirong,” she wrote on Facebook.

“If you can connect us to any appropriate agency who may be able to coordinate with Nepal authorities and assist with the ongoing search operations, please reach out to us. We would be eternally grateful,” she added.
