WestEnd Films has boarded world sales on Woody Allen’s new feature, which is set to begin shooting in Madrid on October 5.

Written and directed by Allen, the contemporary comedy will star Marton Csokas (The Lord of the Rings, The Equalizer), Jemima Kirke (Girls, Sex Education), Jakob Oftebro (Hamilton, Kon-Tiki), Peter Vives (The Time in Between, Velvet) and Alexi Wasser (Messy, Girls).

Principal photography will take place in the city and region of Madrid. This project, which will be shot in English, will be Allen’s third production shot in Spain after Vicky Cristina Barcelona (2008) and Rifkin’s Festival (2020). A title for this movie has yet to be revealed.

Madrid-based Wanda Vision and Allen’s production banner, Gravier Productions, are producing the title alongside 3SIX9 Studios. The creative team includes José Luis Alcaine, Sonia Grande and Alain Bainée.

“I will be very happy to return to Spain. This will be my third time filming there and my first opportunity to make a film in Madrid, a city I have always loved.” said Woody Allen.

The film continues WestEnd’s long-standing partnership with Gravier Productions. WestEnd handled world sales on Allen’s recent films including Coup de Chance, which premiered at the Venice Film Festival and was sold to distributors in over 30 countries. WestEnd also represents a library of 25 Woody Allen titles, including Midnight in Paris, Match Point and Blue Jasmine.

Maya Amsellem, Managing Director of WestEnd Films, said: “We’re delighted to continue our long-standing collaboration with Woody Allen and his team. Following the strong international response to Coup de Chance, we’re thrilled to bring his new film to market. It brings together an exciting international ensemble cast in Madrid, and we look forward to introducing it to buyers at AFM.”

WestEnd Films will introduce the film to international buyers at the upcoming American Film Market.
