Roma director Tony D’Amico assures they ‘have faith’ in third choice goalkeeper Devis Vasquez against Manchester United and reveals why Gian Piero Gasperini didn’t speak to the media.
It kicks off at Old Trafford at 20.00 GMT (21.00 CEST).

The Giallorossi were shaken by fresh injury problems just hours before the match, as goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini hurt his back in the last training session.
He was given pain-killing injections, but they were not sufficient, so Devis Vasquez had to step in as their third choice, seeing as Mile Svilar has already been out of action for a month.

It was originally meant to be coach Gasperini who held the media duties pre-match, but seeing as Roma were late getting to the stadium due to traffic in Manchester, it was decided that director of sport D’Amico would take over.
“We took longer than expected to get here without a police escort, but we’re here now, these things happen,” D’Amico told Sky Sport Italia.
“Gollini felt back pain this morning, we tried to get him back in shape, but didn’t manage it, we have faith in Vasquez. This is an opportunity for him, he is one of the four goalkeepers at our disposal and these things happen.
“He will have a big chance and we are confident he can have a good game.”

This is only the latest setback for a side that is already missing Paulo Dybala, Manu Koné and Lorenzo Pellegrini too.
Nonetheless, they have lost only one match all season, the 4-3 defeat to Real Madrid in a game they were leading 3-1 going into the 82nd minute.
