‘Slow Horses’ Season 7 Casts Varada Sethu, Tuppence Middleton, Joshua McGuire

Translate

Varada Sethu (Doctor Who, Andor), Ethan Moorhouse (Ludwig, MobLand), Tuppence Middleton (Downton Abbey: A New Era), Merab Ninidze (Homeland, The Courier) and Joshua McGuire (The Gold, Anatomy of a Scandal) have all joined the seventh season of Apple TV‘s Slow Horses.

The upcoming installment is adapted from the Bad Actors novel in Mick Herron’s popular Slough House book series and is set to see Gary Oldman‘s Jackson Lamb attempt to hunt and neutralize a mole at the heart of the British government before they can bring down the state.

His co-star, Jack Lowden, recently made headlines when Oldman suggested he’s on the shortlist for the next James Bond. (Though Oldman later clarified his comments.)

Monday’s casting news comes shortly after the confirmation of Slow Horses‘ season eight renewal, which will depict Herron’s ninth novel in the series, Clown Town. That installment will follow Lamb and Diana Taverner (Kristin Scott Thomas) as they face off in their most explosive confrontation yet.

Current castmembers also include Saskia Reeves as Catherine Standish, Christopher Cho as tech expert Roddy, Rosalind Eleazar as Louisa, Aimee-Ffion Edwards as Shirley, Tom Brooke as JK Coe and Jonathan Pryce as David Cartwright.

Season six has also seen the return of Hugo Weaving as Frank Harkness, River’s birth father, and Olivia Cooke as Sid, an agent who was believed dead.

The series is produced for Apple TV by See-Saw Films, with Jamie Laurenson, Hakan Kousetta, Iain Canning, Emile Sherman, Dan Hassid, Helen Gregory, Mick Herron, Gail Mutrux, Douglas Urbanski and Oldman serving as executive producers.

Season seven is adapted for television and executive produced by Ben Vanstone, with Robert McKillop set to direct. See-Saw Films is part of the Mediawan group.
