The camp of contractor Pacifico "Curlee" Discaya II denied that he gives money to former House speaker Lord Allan Velasco.
In the affidavit of Rodulfo Gracioso Jr., a former policeman, claimed that Discaya is said to be among the sources of Velasco's money that he is told to deliver to some politicians.
In a "24 Oras" report on Thursday, Atty. Cornelio Samaniego III said that he has spoken to his client about the matter.
Samaniego said Discaya did not hand over cash and that he denied any involvement in the issue. He added that Discaya also does not know Gracioso.
Velasco’s camp said that the allegations have “no basis” and are “fabricated attacks” against him.
Gracioso surfaced last week and claimed that he delivered suitcases containing over P2 billion in cash to Vice President Sara Duterte, her father former President Rodrigo Duterte, and her brother Rep. Paolo Duterte.
Vice President Duterte has said that she does not know Gracioso.
The National Bureau of Investigation is already investigating his claims.
The Office of the Ombudsman has filed graft and malversation cases against Curlee Discaya for malversation through falsification of public documents charges in connection with his alleged involvement in the kickback scheme from flood control projects. He is detained at the Bulacan Provincial Jail. — Jean Mangaluz/BAP, GMA News
