Chinese swimmer Yu Zidi won her second gold of the ongoing Asian Games with the fastest time in the world this year on Monday.
Yu’s time of 2:06.10s in the 200m individual medley was only 0.4 seconds slower than Summer McIntosh’s world record, making the schoolgirl a serious talent to watch out for in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

“I feel even happier winning this second gold medal than I did with the first one,” said the 13-year-old Yu, who won the 200m butterfly on Sunday. It’s been a stellar campaign for her, smashing two Asiad records in as many days.
