To celebrate National Children’s Month, children under 18 will get free rides at all LRT Line 2 stations on November 4, the Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) announced.

The free rides will be available from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

“The free ride program will be implemented at all LRT Line 2 stations in support of the Council for the Welfare of Children under the Department of Social Welfare and Development,” the LRTA said.

“The initiative is among the activities marking the 34th National Children’s Month, focused on promoting the rights and welfare of children. It aims to provide young passengers a meaningful experience and raise awareness of the importance of protecting and empowering children,” it added.

During the free ride program's implementation, the LRTA noted that priority boarding areas will remain reserved for senior citizens, pregnant women, and persons with disabilities.

The agency urged the public to strictly observe station rules, as security procedures will stay in place at all stations. —Lyjah Tiffany Bonzo/LDF, GMA News
