Developed by Nekki, Spine - This Is Gun Fu is an upcoming single-player action game with a focus on close-up combat inspired by "Gun Fu movies." Set to launch some time in 2027, players can expect a stunning cyberpunk world as they take on the role of Redline, a street artist who is joined by her sentient combat implant Spine as they go head-to-head with autocratic AI regime in the search for Redline's brother.

"In Tensor City — a technocratic megacity built by an AI for humanity to survive the ecological collapse of the world outside — your value is a number," the official synopsis for Spine reads. "Tensor City’s Social Rating decides who eats, who works, and who gets thrown away, splitting the city between the gleaming New City above and the rotting Old City below. Redline, a rebel street artist, scrapes by in the slums, until a mafia heist goes wrong and costs her everything including her brother. To get him back, she acquires a sentient combat implant called Spine, and together they go in search of her brother."

This may be a video game, but players can also expect a cinematic experience as they embrace innovative combat, a dystopian cyberpunk city, and deadly characters.

Players Can Expect Non-Stop Action

Combining gunplay and hardcore melee combat, Spine is a true action game, as players master Freeflow Combat. As such, this will require you to take no breaks during combat, and instead have one action flow directly into the next one in order to end in brutal finishers which will be captured perfectly with a close-up cinematic camera.

In Tensor City, you will run into all manner of people, including Justice Department squads, mafia enforcers, VR-possessed fanatics, and the Children of Tensor, and, as such, you will always have to watch your back on the search for your brother. However, if there is one thing you know, it is these streets, and so you have the ultimate advantage.

As mentioned, Spine - This Is Gun Fu does not yet have a release date, but it is expected to drop some time in 2027. If you are a lover of action movies and the cyberpunk genre, this is not a release you will want to miss out on.
