Kenya Power Announces Friday Blackouts in Pangani and Parts of Meru County
Kenya Power has announced planned electricity interruptions in parts of Nairobi and Meru counties on Friday, October 16, 2026, to facilitate maintenance works.
The scheduled outages will affect customers in Pangani, Nairobi, as well as Mikumbune and Ntemwene in Meru County. The utility has advised affected customers to make alternative arrangements during the interruption periods.
Nairobi Region: Pangani
Time: 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
In Nairobi, the planned power interruption will affect parts of Pangani.
The affected areas include Forest Road, Chai Road, Agoi Road and Pamba Road, as well as adjacent customers.
Mt Kenya Region: Meru County
Time: 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
In Meru County, the outage will affect Mikumbune and Ntemwene and surrounding areas.
The affected locations include Mikumbune Market, Gaatia Market, Kandigi Coffee Factory, Macikine Secondary School, Kiorone, National Oil, Ntemwene, Kagwampungul Kabyoo and Kieru Coffee Factory, alongside adjacent customers.
