Cops probe woman over incident involving two children at KL mall

Translate

KUALA LUMPUR: Police are investigating a woman accused of pushing and hitting two children at a shopping mall in the capital.

The case came to light after a 35-second video went viral on Threads and Facebook.

The video showed a heated exchange between the children's father and the woman at the scene, drawing widespread anger from social media users.

Dang Wangi district police chief Assistant Commissioner Ahmad Azwan Amin Nordin said police had detected the video and received an official report from the children's father.

He said the incident occurred at 3pm yesterday when the 36-year-old complainant was walking with his two children, aged 2 and 7.

"Suddenly, an unknown woman pushed his son from behind, causing him to fall, and hit his daughter on the back of the head," he said in a statement.

Ahmad Azwan said police viewed the incident seriously and were conducting an investigation.
