MCA veep faces 4-way fight for 3rd term as Kelebang rep

MCA vice-president Lim Ban Hong is in a four-way fight as he seeks a third term as the Kelebang assemblyman in the Nov 14 Melaka election.
The Barisan Nasional candidate is being challenged by Pakatan Harapan’s Farzana Hayani Nasir, former Senate deputy president Ali Mohamad of Bersatu, and Bersama’s Young Jie Yu.
Kelebang is a mixed seat comprising 66.9% Malay voters, followed by Chinese (28.6%) and Indians (2.3%).
Lim was first elected the Kelebang assemblyman in 2013 but lost the seat to PKR in 2018.
However, he managed to regain the seat for BN in the 2021 state polls, defeating the then PKR incumbent with an 876-vote majority.
