Armie Hammer Wraps Under-The-Radar Action-Thriller ‘Tokyo Blitz’, Film Heads To AFM For Sales

EXCLUSIVE: Armie Hammer is starring in under-the-radar action-thriller Tokyo Blitz, which recently wrapped in Los Angeles.

This marks the Call Me By Your Name and The Social Network actor’s first announced project since his controversial Citizen Vigilante film caused a stir this summer after getting the backing of Elon Musk.

Hammer continues to rebuild after years in the wilderness. CAA helped broker the deal for him to join Tokyo Blitz, but agency sources tell us CAA isn’t repping the actor who hasn’t had agency representation since he was dropped by WME in 2021.

Film Mode Entertainment has boarded worldwide sales on Tokyo Blitz and will be showing a first look to buyers at next month’s American Film Market.

Written and directed by Garrett Glassell (Kade), the movie “follows a ruthless Yakuza enforcer (Joey Chase) who’s trying to save his fractured family when he’s drawn into a deadly war for control of Tokyo’s first legal casino, putting him on a collision course with Rick (Armie Hammer), an elite American hitman who never misses his mark.”

The film also stars Kooper Seewald, Yuwi, Nobuaki Shimamoto, and John Kim.

Keli Price produced under his Price Productions banner, alongside Tommy Anderson of Charthouse Films and Liam S. Terlecki. Executive producers include Clay Epstein of Film Mode Entertainment, Christopher Manalo, and Mike Levenson.

“Tokyo Blitz is an action-thriller with real heart at its core, and Garrett has created a distinctive world that feels both visceral and deeply personal. He has a unique style and vision, and pairing that vision with Armie couldn’t have been a better fit,” said Keli Price.

“Armie brought tremendous intensity and commitment to the role. We’re thrilled to have Film Mode bringing Tokyo Blitz to the international marketplace and giving buyers their first look at AFM,” said Clay Epstein.

Price negotiated Hammer’s deal with CAA and brokered the Film Mode pact. Hammer is repped by law firm Yorn Levine. Chase is repped by NTA; Seewald by Elégance; Yuwi by Park Noack; and Shimamoto by Minc.
