Bell ruled out of Wales' second WXV Japan Test

Translate

Centre Freya Bell will miss Wales' final international of 2026 after suffering a knee injury in last Saturday's WXV Global Series match against Japan.

Bell, who turned 21 this week, was stretchered off in the 53rd minute of Wales' 17-0 victory at Tokyo's Prince Chichibu Memorial Stadium after falling awkwardly in a tackle.

The Welsh Rugby Union (WRU) has confirmed she will miss this Saturday's second Test against the Sakura Fifteen in Kumagaya City (07:00 GMT).

The WRU said Bell is currently awaiting the results of a scan, with the full extent of her injury to be assessed on her return home.

She will remain in Japan and fly back with the squad on Sunday.
