Trillanes attends impeachment trial as Baste Duterte set to testify — Former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV arrives at the Senate to observe the impeachment trial.

MANILA, Philippines – Former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV arrived at the Senate on Tuesday to observe the impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte.

The former legislator is also listed among the prosecution’s witnesses for Duterte’s alleged unexplained wealth.

Trillanes appeared to be with the House prosecution panel and was seen walking alongside private prosecutor Atty. Lorna Kapunan.

Asked if he would take the witness stand, Trillanes told reporters, “I hope so.”

Davao City Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte, meanwhile, is the witness scheduled to testify on Tuesday. His testimony is expected to focus on Davao City government transactions with GenCorp Industries Inc., a company that Sara Duterte declared as a business interest in her 2024 and 2025 statements of assets, liabilities and net worth.
