Translate

It is almost time for the MTN8 final between Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns. It takes place at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday, 10 October, at 18:00.

After looking at Sundowns’ predicted starting lineup, what should we expect from Abdeslam Ouaddou’s Buccaneers as they target a record fifth consecutive MTN8 title?

MTN8 FINAL: ORLANDO PIRATES’ EXPECTED STARTING LINEUP VS MAMELODI SUNDOWNS

Following the clinical 2-0 win over Marumo Gallants, Buccaneers head coach Ouaddou is expected to favour a more experienced lineup against Kabo Yellow.

We expect Nkosikhona Ndaba, Kabelo Kgositsile and Simphiwe Selepe to make way for more experienced players. Deon Hotto, Oswin Appollis and Mthetheleli Mthiyane expected to step in.

Full Orlando Pirates line up to expect: Goalkeeper: Sipho Chaine, Right back: Kamogelo Sebelebele, Left back: Deon Hotto, Central defender: Nkosinathi Sibisi, Central defender: Lebone Seema, Defensive midfielder: Mthetheleli Mthiyane, Central midfielder: Thapelo Mokobodi, Attacking midfielder: Simphiwe Masilela, Left winger: Oswin Appollis, Right winger: Tshepang Moremi, Striker: Yanela Mbuthuma.

ROAD TO THE FINAL

Orlando Pirates arrive in Durban after getting past Sekhukhune United 4-0 on aggregate in the semi-finals. It started with a laboured 1-0 victory in the first leg at Old Peter Mokaba Stadium. Veteran Namibian defender Deon Hotto decided the game with a well-taken strike.

The job was finished in Soweto with a swaggering 3-0 victory at the Orlando Amstel Arena.

Mamelodi Sundowns’ progresssion was less smooth. Their place in the final was made possible on the away goals rule after a thrilling 3-3 aggregate scored against Lamontville Golden Arrows.

After a dramatic 1-0 win for Arrows in Tshwane, Sundowns grabbed a 3-2 victory at the King Zwelithini Stadium. Siyanda Ndlovu and Teboho Mokoena and Antonio Van Wyk stole the show.
