New restaurants coming to some of Kruger National Park’s biggest camps

Translate

Visitors to some of Kruger National Park’s most popular camps will soon find some familiar restaurants with very different names and looks.

SANParks has appointed new restaurant operators at Lower Sabie, Pretoriuskop and Berg-en-Dal, while the restaurant at Skukuza is also set for a refurbishment.

The changes follow a competitive tender process and the expiry of previous concession agreements.

Kruger restaurants are getting a major refresh

At Lower Sabie, the former Mugg & Bean will return as Sabie River Café.

Pretoriuskop’s Wimpy will become Le Lapeng Burgers and Grill, while Berg-en-Dal’s Tindlovu Restaurant will be transformed into Eziko Eatery.

At Skukuza, the existing Cattle Baron will undergo refurbishment, with the restaurant receiving a refreshed look and feel.

Temporary dining options

But visitors won’t be left without somewhere to eat while the work takes place.

SANParks says temporary dining facilities with limited menus will be available during the refurbishment periods to maintain some continuity of service.

According to SANParks, the new operators will bring new concepts, investment and energy to some of the park’s busiest camps.

The changes are also expected to boost economic growth and create jobs, while improving the overall tourism offering inside Kruger National Park.

SANParks said it looks forward to unveiling the upgraded facilities in the coming months.
