Bulog sends 1,321 tons of rice to quake-hit NTT

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia's state-owned logistics company Bulog has distributed 1,321.55 tons of rice and 7,000 liters of cooking oil to communities affected by the earthquake in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) as of September 1, 2026.

"Bulog is continuing to strengthen its humanitarian aid for communities affected by the earthquake in NTT," Bulog President Director Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani said at a press conference in Jakarta on Tuesday to update on food stocks in disaster-hit areas.

The rice assistance is sourced from the government rice reserve (CBP), local government food reserves, and the national food assistance program.

Meanwhile, the 7,000 liters of distributed cooking oil have fully met their quota, reaching 100 percent of the target.

The assistance has reached seven affected districts: Ende, Sikka, Manggarai, East Manggarai, Nagekeo, Ngada, and West Manggarai.

Ramdhani said Bulog would continue to ensure food availability and distribution for affected communities.

He noted that food remains a critical necessity during disasters, prompting Bulog to act swiftly to ensure aid reaches those in need without delay.

"Distribution is being carried out in stages and coordinated with local authorities and relevant stakeholders to ensure the assistance is properly targeted and directly reaches the affected residents," Ramdhani said.

To ensure assistance reaches those in need, Bulog teams are continuing to coordinate with authorities and collect data in the field.

As of September 1, Bulog had recorded 45 aid and evacuation shelters operating across Ngada, Nagekeo, Manggarai, and East Manggarai.

Bulog is also coordinating closely with the Regional Agency for Disaster Countermeasures (BPBD) and local governments to monitor food needs on the ground.

Ramdhani assured aid distribution would continue until all allocated assistance had been delivered in line with local needs and established guidelines.
