The new trailer of ‘Ramayana’ is out, and filmmaker SS Rajamouli has shown his support for the film ahead of its November 5, 2026 release. Starring Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Yash as Ravana and Sai Pallavi as Sita, the film is one of the most awaited releases of the year.

What SS Rajamouli said

Rajamouli shared the trailer on X and praised the team led by director Nitesh Tiwari and producer Namit Malhotra. He wrote, “#Ramayana is a story every Indian storyteller grows up aspiring to tell. It’s a joy to see @niteshtiwari22 and @malhotra_namit bring it to the screen on such a grand scale. Each actor brings these timeless characters to life with depth.”He also added, “Looking forward to 5th November. Best wishes to the entire team.”

What the trailer shows

The trailer runs for 2 minutes and 36 seconds and offers fresh footage, with more scenes of Ram and Ravana.

It begins with a voice describing a peaceful world, saying, “Before history was written... men walked among gods... and the world existed in perfect order.” Kunal Kapoor is also seen as Lord Indra. That calm is broken by Ravana’s rise. The narration goes on, “But from the darkness rose an evil force... Ravana. Born from fire and fury, he bent the gods to his will and made the world his throne.”Ranbir Kapoor

’s Rama is seen carrying the weight of his destiny. Ready to stop Ravana," he says, “If this is my fate...

I will not hesitate to destroy him. If I don’t stop him... the world will fall.” The video ends on a dark note, with Ravana warning, “This is just... the beginning.”

Reactions to the VFX

The first trailer had drawn criticism from some viewers over its visual effects, which led to debate about the CGI and overall look. The makers have asked audiences to watch the full film in theatres before deciding. The new English international trailer, however, presents the film as a grand epic.
