Hogwarts Legacy Official Free DLC Quest Is Perfect For Halloween

With the Hogwarts Legacy sequel currently in development over at Avalanche Software, despite the ongoing Warner Bros. acquisition seeing brand-new owners step in, fans are excited to see what comes next for the much-loved RPG inspired by the Harry Potter franchise.

It has been three years since Hogwarts Legacy became the best-selling game of 2023, and despite criticism over its lack of post-game content, a sequel was confirmed almost immediately, letting its developers off the hook ever so slightly.

As such, the dedicated modding community has had to step in and find new and creative ways for players to return to the Harry Potter RPG. However, what many do not know, is that there is now a way to celebrate the spooky season with an official DLC.

Hogwarts Legacy Returns This Halloween

Although Hogwarts Legacy did not welcome much post-game content, Avalanche Software did release the Minding Your Own Business/Haunted Hogsmeade Shop quest, which can be found and completed within Hogsmeade Village.

Players will be tasked with heading into the shop and finding out the mysteries that lurk within, and with rewards to be earned and scares to be had, there is no better time to dive into it.

If you missed out on the quest the first time, that is easily done, as it was first released as a PlayStation-timed exclusive during Hogwarts Legacy's launch. However, with the one and only main update in Summer 2024, the quest was added to the game permanently, and for all platforms. At that point, many players had wrapped up their time with Hogwarts Legacy, so it makes sense that it was missed.

However, it is now available at Hogsmeade Village, and to start it, you need to have completed Professor Weasley's Assignment main quest and head to the southern part of Hogsmeade Village. Once here, go to a vacant shop near Spintwitches Sporting Needs, and it is here that you will be able to dive into the quest. However, it is recommended that you are at least level 18.

Completing the quest will reward you with a Shopkeeper’s Coat, Shopkeeper’s Top Hat, Shopkeeper’s Ensemble, and more, and so it is definitely worth doing if you wish to unlock even more cosmetics for your witch or wizard.

As mentioned, the modding community has single-handedly kept Hogwarts Legacy alive all these years after a lack of official updates, and thanks to them, fans can experience the game with friends courtesy of a multiplayer mode, or even alter the magical world The Sims-style. There is something for everyone, and better yet, they are completely free to download whilst we wait eagerly for the launch of Hogwarts Legacy 2.
