WA news LIVE: Perth feels bite of house value slump; Greek favourites confirmed for United Cup return
World No.7 Felix Auger-Aliassime is among the major names set to represent their country when the United Cup returns to Perth and Sydney in the new year.
Auger-Aliassime will be joined by Victoria Mboko to represent Canada, while crowd favourite Stefanos Tsitsipas will represent Greece alongside Maria Sakkari.
Last year, Tsitsipas – currently ranked 33 – took the United Cup by storm in Perth with a straight-sets win over Japan’s Shintaro Mochizuki and a tense clash with Britain’s Billy Harris that went down to the wire in the final set.
Despite Tsitsipas triumphing over Taylor Fritz in the quarterfinals, team USA were ultimately too strong for the Greeks, with Coco Gauff and Christian Harrison sealing their path to the semifinals.
