SABC confirms Orlando Pirates’ CAF Champions League broadcast

Translate

Orlando Pirates’ CAF Champions League second-leg clash against African Stars will be televised live on SABC 2 on Friday evening.

The Buccaneers head into the encounter with a 1-0 advantage after winning the first leg in Botswana. They will now look to finish the job at home and secure their place in the next round of Africa’s premier club competition.

A cautious approach may not be enough for the Soweto giants, with Abdeslam Ouaddou expected to field an attacking team as Pirates look to score early and put their opponents under pressure.

African Stars are unlikely to sit back. The Namibian champions will also be searching for a goal to get themselves back into the tie, potentially creating opportunities for Pirates to exploit on the counterattack.

When are Orlando Pirates hosting African Stars?

Orlando Pirates will welcome African Stars to the Orlando Amstel Arena on Friday, 23 October, with kick-off scheduled for 19:30.

The match will be broadcast live on SABC 2, allowing South African supporters to follow the Buccaneers as they attempt to progress in the CAF Champions League.

Ouaddou is expected to select a strong starting XI for the decisive encounter as Pirates look to avoid another disappointing early exit from continental competition.

Reaching the group stage would represent an important step for the Buccaneers and provide a boost as they pursue their ambitions on the African stage.

Orlando Pirates Predicted Starting XI

Sipho Chaine; Ghampani Lungu, Lebone Seema, Nkosinathi Sibisi, Deon Hotto; Thapelo Mokobodi, Mthetheli Mthiyane; Simphiwe Masilela, Oswin Appollis, Mohau Nkota; Boitumelo Radiopane.
