ABC's High Potential replacement is a crime series that has just surged on multiple streaming services at the perfect time, and it makes for the best weekend binge. High Potential is a major hit on network TV, bringing in millions of viewers each week. It is one of the many shows that form a robust lineup of crime series across different networks. Among those are projects like Nathan Fillion's The Rookie, also an ABC series, which, like High Potential, not only focuses on crime, but does so while balancing humor and personal stakes to make it a multi-layered show.

High Potential became popular due to how its main character, Kaitlin Olson's Morgan Gillory, is not your usual police consultant. With an IQ that makes her an exceptionally gifted individual, Morgan goes from cleaning the floors of the LAPD to solving cases as a consultant. The show veers into a similar tone and territory as previous hit network TV crime series, such as The Mentalist, Castle, and Monk. Now, the show that replaced High Potential on ABC's Tuesdays at 10 PM slot, R.J. Decker, has become a massive hit across three different streaming services, and it happens at the perfect time.

R.J. Decker Is Dominating Multiple Streaming Platforms

At the time of writing, R.J. Decker is trending on Disney+ and Hulu in the United States, as well as finding streaming success on Crave in Canada. R.J. Decker currently stands as the 2nd most-watched TV show on Disney+ in the United States, with the crime series only losing to the fellow genre show The Drop: A Snowfall Saga. R.J. Decker is also the 6th most-watched TV show on Hulu nationwide, where it has left behind popular series like the Glen Powell sports comedy Chad Powers, Gordon Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares, the hit sitcom It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and more.

Hulu's most-watched TV show right now is the reality series Dancing with the Stars. Finally, ABC's R.J. Decker has also proved itself a major hit in Canada, where it currently ranks as the 7th most-watched movie or TV show on Crave's Top 10 Overall chart. It left behind Mark Ruffalo's gritty HBO crime thriller series Task on the streamer. R.J. Decker's streaming dominance comes at the perfect time, as season 2 of the ABC series recently premiered on Tuesday, September 15. R.J. Decker is also a perfect weekend binge, as the show has put out only 10 episodes so far between season 1 and the season 2 premiere.

The Show Is Perfect For High Potential Fans

ABC's High Potential replacement follows former newspaper photographer and prison inmate R.J., who becomes a private investigator after being freed, only he tackles extremely bizarre cases in none other than South Florida, giving it that same sharp edge of High Potential, with a protagonist that is not your usual hard-boiled, straight-faced detective. An R.J. Decker binge on any of the three streaming services it is trending on will have viewers ready for the rest of season 2, and High Potential fans are already used to the time slot the crime series airs, as it was High Potential's first, thus making R.J. Decker its perfect replacement.
