Woman, two kids found dead inside car in Bulacan town


SAN RAFAEL, Bulacan — A 31-year-old bookkeeper for a U.S.-based company and her two children, aged 9 and 4, were found dead inside an abandoned vehicle on an inner road in Barangay Talacsan here Thursday, Aug. 20.
The victims bore gunshot wounds and were found seated upright in the back seat of their family vehicle at around 2 p.m. by residents in the area, said Brig. Gen. Jess Mendez, Central Luzon police director, in a Friday, Aug. 21, interview at the Second Provincial Mobile Force Company headquarters in the San Rafael Government Center.
The victims were last seen with a male friend as they left Angat town and were driving home to the City of Baliwag.

Mendez said police found a 9mm handgun inside the vehicle, as well as two fired cartridges and a slug, but forensic examiners still need to determine whether the gun was used in the killings.
The bodies of the victims were taken to a funeral parlor.
“We now have leads and a person of interest, but we are still investigating the incident. We are waiting for the forensic examination results,” Mendez said. /das
