Young Miko Names Bad Bunny, Tego Calderon to Her Reggaeton Mount Rushmore

Young Miko was asked to name her Mount Rushmore of reggaeton artists, but narrowing decades of Puerto Rican music down to just four names proved to be a problem.

Speaking with Complex Music, the Puerto Rican rapper first pointed to several artists she grew up listening to. “I grew up a lot around Wisin & Yandel. I grew up a lot, a lot around Tego Calderón,” she said, before also citing Jowell & Randy among her favorites.

Miko went on to name Chencho Corleone and Ñejo & Dálmata before adding another fellow Puerto Rican: “Bad Bunny is definitely up there as well.”

When asked again to settle on four names, she declined. “I can’t, bro,” Miko said. “We all share the same culture too. So it’s just like, si eres de PR, you’re up there for me.”

We asked Young Miko to name her Reggaeton Mount Rushmore, were her picks valid?

Young Miko has collaborated with several of the artists she mentioned, including Bad Bunny. The pair teamed up on “FINA,” from his 2023 album nadie sabe lo que va a pasar mañana, and performed the song together during the Madrid leg of his “Debí Tirar Más Fotos World Tour” in March.

The interview arrives ahead of the North American leg of Miko’s Late Checkout Tour, her first full arena tour, which will take her through Mexico and the United States this fall.
