Updated EURO 2032 list of potential host stadiums cuts two projects

The FIGC has sent UEFA the dossier of 13 cities and 14 stadiums for Italy to co-host EURO 2032 with Turkiye, including Milan, Naples, Rome, Turin and Florence, but cut two projects.

Of the remaining 14 stadiums, UEFA will ultimately choose five to host the matches in the summer of 2032, with Turkiye providing the other five.

Italy whittle down EURO 2032 stadiums

Rome is now the only city with two stadiums up for potential consideration, because both the Stadio Olimpico and the planned new Roma construction in the Pietralata district meet the criteria.

However, Naples is only putting forth the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona and not the proposed new arena that Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis wants to build outside the city.

Another stadium that has been cut from the list presented on August 1 is the Stadio Flaminio, the one that Lazio are planning to revamp in Rome.

The cities that remain in the running are Bari, Bologna, Cagliari, Florence, Genoa, Lecce, Milan, Naples (Stadio Maradona), Palermo, Rome (Stadio Olimpico and Pietralata arena), Salerno, Turin and Verona.

Only today, Bologna and Verona presented the plans for their new stadium projects, which they hope to be ready in time for EURO 2032.
