The Seattle Mariners announced shortly after Sunday’s season finale that manager Dan Wilson will not return in 2027.

Seattle was a disappointing 76-86 this season, finished third in the American League West and missed the playoffs one year after advancing to Game 7 of the 2025 ALCS before falling to the Toronto Blue Jays.

Wilson, 57, went 187-171 in two-plus seasons with the Mariners. He reportedly informed the players before Sunday’s 7-3 win over the Los Angeles Angels that he wouldn’t return.
