EastEnders reveals turmoil for Kat and Alfie in tragic Zoe death aftermath

EastEnders’ Kat Moon is consumed by her grief for her daughter Zoe Slater next week, and as tensions continue to mount at The Vic, she refuses to open up to Alfie.

"This is one of the toughest times Kat and Alfie have faced," says our Walford source. "They’re on very different pages and Kat feels as though she’s going through this alone.

The distance between the couple has been growing following Zoe’s death, but Alfie can’t find any way to get through to Kat.
Ever since he let the kids into Zoe’s room, he feels as if he can’t do the right thing. He’s seen his wife open up to other members of the community, but she won’t share her pain with him.
Alfie knows Kat’s at breaking point and the boys are struggling, but she clams up every time her husband tries to shoulder the burden.

They’ve battled through loss before, but Alfie knows getting Zoe back in their lives made Kat feel her world was complete – now it’s shattered. Alfie wants Kat to find a way to let go of that pain, but she’s fixated on finding a reason for her daughter’s death.
Will anything persuade Kat to finally let Alfie back in? Or will it take someone else to help release Kat from her prison of grief?
We know that there are tough times ahead for the Slater-Moon family, as new spoilers released by the BBC for later this month reveal that Kat will continue to struggle with her grief.

While her loved ones will rally around Kat in her time of need, the situation escalates and Kat and Alfie’s relationship ends up hanging in the balance. Can the beloved soap couple make it through this incredibly challenging period?
Back in August, the cast – including Jessie Wallace and Shane Richie – were pictured filming funeral scenes at a church, so it is likely to be an emotional month as Zoe’s family say a final goodbye.
EastEnders airs on Mondays - Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
