Dominican Singer-Songwriter Alex Ferreira Reunites With Silvana Estrada at Tiny Desk: Watch

Alex Ferreira brought a surprise guest to his debut Tiny Desk Concert: Silvana Estrada.

The Dominican singer-songwriter welcomed Estrada behind the Desk for the closing “Me Pierdo Contigo,” capping a four-song set released Thursday as part of NPR Music’s annual El Tiny celebration of Latin Music Month. Ferreira also performed “Ven Que Te Quiero Ver,” “Monte Adentro,” and “Un Cariñito.”

This year’s El Tiny series has also featured YENDRY, who returned to the Tiny Desk for a second time to perform songs from her debut album, Como agua.

Estrada’s appearance also reunited a pair of longtime collaborators. Back in 2020, the Mexican singer contributed vocals to Ferreira’s “Un Cariñito,” a song from his Latin Grammy-nominated album En Lo Que Llega La Primavera. The original recording also featured Gustavo Guerrero on backing vocals and was produced by Matías Cella.

Ferreira kept his Tiny Desk arrangement suitably intimate, performing with a six-piece lineup built around guitar, bass, drums, and piano, with saxophone entering the mix as well.
