Lagos APC mobilises S’South women for 2027
The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has intensified engagement with South-South groups in the state as the party begins preparations for the 2027 elections.
The latest mobilisation was recorded at a town hall meeting organised by the South-South People’s United Forum in Lagos, where the group also unveiled its campaign outfit.
The chairman of the Lagos APC Campaign Council’s Contact and Mobilisation Sub-Committee on Ethnic Nationality, Sam Egube, said the meeting reflected the group’s growing organisation and readiness to participate in the party’s campaign activities.
Egube, who is also the Lagos State Deputy Chief of Staff and the forum’s apex leader, said the engagement was part of efforts to build structures through which ethnic nationality groups could participate in the political process.
He said, “As apex leader, I was particularly proud of what today represented. It was not simply another gathering; it reflected the level of organisation, intentionality and readiness we are working to build within our structure.”
According to him, the women had demonstrated “energy, clarity of purpose and a willingness to contribute” to the campaign.
The Lagos APC Chairman, Cornelius Ojelabi, also commended the group, noting that it was the first among the groups engaged by the campaign council to unveil a campaign outfit.
Egube said the development underscored the importance of preparation and organised participation ahead of the elections.

“Preparation matters. Organisation matters. And when people are given the opportunity to participate meaningfully, they bring enormous value to the process,” he said.
The ethnic nationality sub-committee is responsible for engaging community groups and associations across Lagos as part of the APC’s mobilisation strategy for the 2027 elections.
Egube said the engagements were intended to strengthen the party’s relationship with the groups, provide a channel for communicating their concerns and organise their participation in the campaign.
The mobilisation is expected to cover support for President Bola Tinubu and other APC candidates, including the party’s Lagos governorship candidate, Dr Obafemi Hamzat.
Egube commended the forum’s leadership and its women leaders for organising the town hall and unveiling the campaign outfit.
He said the objective was to build a platform through which members of the group could be heard, represented and organised to participate in the electoral process.
