Translate

The bodies of Lujain Abdel-Aziz Saber and Rafif Mohamed Abdel-Moneim, two young athletes participating in the National Project for Talent and Olympic Champions killed in a bus accident, were sent to their families on Sunday following the completion of all legal procedures and the issuance of burial permits.

The bodies were transported to the Assiut Governorate, where they will be laid to rest.

The tragic accident involved a bus that was carrying athletes and coaches from the project; the group was returning from Cairo after competing in the National Judo Championship. The incident occurred at dawn on Sunday on the Eastern Desert Road in Minya Governorate, leaving 35 other people with injuries ranging from severe to minor.

Three of the injured required intensive care due to the seriousness of their condition, while 32 others received treatment and necessary first aid at Maghagha Hospital.

The relevant authorities continue to provide full medical care and support to those injured, while also monitoring their health status and offering psychological and social support to the families of the victims and the injured.

Lujain Abdel-Aziz Saber was a sixth-grade primary student at Al-Farooq Official Language School, and Rafif Mohamed Abdel-Moneim was a first-year middle school student at the Asyut Al-Azhari Institute for Girls.
