Ibom Air appoints two executive directors, announces board retirement

Ibom Air, the Akwa Ibom State-owned airline, has appointed two executive directors to its board as part of efforts to reposition the company for a new phase of growth.
The airline announced the appointments of Mfon Udomah as executive director of finance and Eno Udoma-Eniang as executive director of legal and corporate affairs in a statement issued on Monday.
Both directors are expected to resume work immediately, although their appointments are subject to ratification at the company’s annual general meeting scheduled for November.
The board also announced the retirement of Uko Udom, the Akwa Ibom State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, who served as a board member for five years.
Mr Udom, a senior advocate of Nigeria with more than 40 years of experience in aviation law, was commended for his contributions to the airline.
The board did not disclose further details about the circumstances surrounding his retirement or whether the changes would be accompanied by other management or operational adjustments.

Mr Udomah, a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria who served as Director of Funds in the Office of the Accountant-General, Akwa Ibom State, brings more than three decades of private- and public-sector experience to his new role.
Ms Udoma-Eniang, a legal practitioner, has more than 30 years of corporate experience spanning telecommunications, fast-moving consumer goods, financial services and emerging technology, according to the statement.
The appointments place finance and legal and corporate affairs under the responsibility of the two new executive directors as the airline prepares for what its board described as a new growth phase.
