IPL 2027 Trade: Top Done Deals And Speculations

Translate

With the Indian Premier League (IPL) retention deadline set for November 17, 2026, franchises are looking to finalise the list of players they wish to retain and those they are willing to go. Some high-profile trade moves have also taken place over the last few weeks, with Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad officially completing a 4-player trade deal on Thursday. Hardik Pandya remains the most talked-about player, as far as trade speculation is concerned, though his move from Mumbai Indians to a new franchise hasn't been finalised yet.

As the retention deadline approaches, here's a look at the top trade moves that have already been made official and those which are strongly being speculated:

Khaleel Ahmed And Nathan Ellis To SRH, As CSK Get Liam Livingstone And Jack Edwards

The two Southern franchises - CSK and SRH - pulled off a massive four-player swap to balance out their squad needs. Chennai sent fast bowlers Khaleel Ahmed and Nathan Ellis over to Hyderabad, getting back explosive power-hitter Liam Livingstone and Australian all-rounder Jack Edwards in return. This move gives Chennai extra firepower in the middle order and handy spin options through Livingstone. Meanwhile, SRH picked up two reliable seamers to bolster their bowling attack that has looked undercooked over the last couple of seasons.

T Natarajan Returns To SRH

T Natarajan, a T20 specialist, has made his way back to Sunrisers Hyderabad, a franchise where he previously enjoyed some of his best performances in the IPL. SRH traded in the left-arm yorker specialist from Delhi Capitals at a revised contract value, while sending 26-year-old leg-spinner Zeeshan Ansari to Delhi in exchange. Getting Natarajan back gives Hyderabad a proven death-overs bowler who knows the home conditions inside out.

Rishabh Pant-Kuldeep Yadav Switch

In unarguably the biggest player exchanges ahead of the season, Rishabh Pant and Kuldeep Yadav swapped places between Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants. Pant, who was the LSG captain last season, returned home at DC on a revised fee of Rs 15 crore after a short stint in Lucknow. Heading the other way, star wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav moved to Lucknow at his existing contract price. The trade worked out well for both teams, allowing Delhi to bring back their marquee wicketkeeper-batter while giving Lucknow a world-class spin operator.

Hardik Pandya-Arshdeep Singh Trade Likely

While several franchises have reportedly reached out to sign Hardik Pandya from Mumbai Indians, Punjab Kings are said to be leading the race. The potential high-profile trade between Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings, however, could see Arshdeep Singh switching sides to wear the Mumbai Indians colours next season. Reports suggest Mumbai are looking into trading their star all-rounder to Punjab, while landing premier pacer to team up alongside Jasprit Bumrah. Though neither franchise nor the IPL board has officially confirmed the move just yet, the speculations are intense.
