If you started talking about the best fantasy series of all time, The Legend of Zelda would come up early. Final Fantasy would definitely be in the running along with a few others, but Zelda has been around for decades now for a good reason: it constantly reinvents itself.
Not everyone meshes with every incarnation of the formula, but plenty of people loved Breath of the Wild and Wind Waker for their focus on exploration, and both influenced games that followed.
After an official reveal from Takara Tomy, we know what's in store for The Legend of Zelda series, including big plans for Wind Waker and Twilight Princess, along with a few other entries.
Announced for release during the week of October 13 in Japan, Takara Tomy is releasing new gacha charms honoring The Legend of Zelda series. They're priced at 300 yen each, and will be part of a new initiative expanding a prior gacha line, with more games in tow.
Here's the full rundown:
- The Legend of Zelda
- Zelda II: The Adventure of Link
- Zelda: A Link to the Past
- Zelda: Ocarina of Time
- Zelda: Majora’s Mask
- Zelda: The Wind Waker
- Zelda: Twilight Princess
- Zelda: Skyward Sword
- Zelda: Breath of the Wild
- Zelda: Link’s Awakening Remake
- Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
- Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom
And here's the breakdown from Takara Tomy:
The Legend of Zelda Historical Charms, previously released as gacha items, are making a comeback with double the number of items. These weighty metal charms, modeled after the Triforce, allow you to enjoy the memorable visuals from the series' history. Each charm measures approximately 3.5cm. The lineup includes 12 types in total.
We've talked about the magic of Twilight Princess extensively, but Wind Waker deserves time in the sun, too. Incredibly, these two games are also intrinsically linked together over a time period of roughly four years.
Although Four Swords Adventures and Minish Cap kept fans busy between the release of Wind Waker on the GameCube and Twilight Princess on the GameCube and Wii (as a launch title for the latter), fans were clamoring for a return to Adult Link even before Wind Waker came out.
While Wind Waker is a fantastic entry that influenced the release of multiple spinoffs on the DS, it also turned off some fans because of the Toon Link aesthetic. Similarly, Twilight Princess isn't universally loved and has its share of problems, but it also gave those same fans a more mature Link and a more dire timeline.
It's a testament to how the Legend of Zelda series truly can be for anyone. Whether you're looking for a silly experience with Toon Link and Tetra or a more dour, intense one with Link and Midna, either game has something to offer. Now, this collection immortalizes them together.

The Legend of Zelda franchise follows the adventures of Link, an elf-like Hylian, and Princess Zelda as they protect the land of Hyrule from the evil warlord-turned-demon king Ganon. The series is known for its mix of action, adventure, and puzzle-solving elements, often revolving around the collection of the Triforce, a powerful relic left by the goddesses who created Hyrule.
