Montclair Film Festival Sets ‘Wild Horse Nine,’ ‘Elsinore,’ ’14th’ and ‘Behemoth!’ Screenings

The 2026 Montclair Film Festival has revealed its opening, closing and centerpiece films.

The annual New Jersey event will kick off with Martin McDonagh’s Wild Horse Nine, starring John Malkovich and Sam Rockwell, and close with Tony Gilroy’s Pedro Pascal starrer Behemoth! Searchlight is set to release Wild Horse Nine, which had its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival last week, on Nov. 6 and Behemoth!, which will have its world premiere at the NY Film Festival on Oct. 2, on Dec. 4.

The festival has also set its animation, documentary and fiction centerpieces.

Brad Bird’s Ray Gunn, set to be released on Netflix on Dec. 18, will screen as the animation centerpiece with Simon Stone’s Andrew Scott starrer Elsinore, to be released by Focus Features on Nov. 20 after having its world premiere last week at the Telluride Film Festival, set as the fiction centerpiece followed by Ava DuVernay’s 14th, which is set to be released in select theaters by Netflix on Nov. 27 after receiving its world premiere at the NY Film Festival on Oct. 9, as the documentary centerpiece.

“2026 marks the 15th anniversary of the Montclair Film Festival, and it is shaping up to be an extraordinary year for cinema,” Montclair Film artistic director Tom Hall said in a statement. “As we look back on the past 15 years, we have seen remarkable connections forged at our festival, in our education programs, our cinemas and our community. All of that is due to the work of great filmmakers. This year’s festival program features remarkable films made by artists who continue to inspire our work. We can’t wait to share them with our audiences.”
