Hamzat, Sahara boss to headline Real Talk anniversary

Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr Kadiri Hamzat, and Group Managing Director of Sahara Group, Kola Adesina, will headline the seventh anniversary of Real Talk With Kike, organisers said on Tuesday.

The event, scheduled for October 10, 2026, at Eko Hotels and Suites, Lagos, will also mark the more than 20-year broadcasting career of broadcaster Kikelomo Atanda-Owo Abati, the host of the programme.

Group Managing Director of Mandilas Group Limited, Vlassis Liakouris, will also headline the event, while Founder of Rise Network, Dr Toyosi Akerele-Ogunsiji, is among the other speakers.

Chairman of the board of Ecobank Nigeria, Mrs Bola Adesola, will deliver the goodwill message.

“The event will focus on the theme, ‘The Future of Nigeria: Where Leadership, Innovation, Culture and Media Converge to Shape Nation Building,’ with speakers expected to examine the roles of governance, business, innovation and media in Nigeria’s development,” they said in a statement.

The organisers said Hamzat would share perspectives on public leadership and governance, while Adesina and Liakouris would discuss private-sector leadership, enterprise and innovation.

Akerele-Ogunsiji is expected to contribute insights on education, youth development and innovation, while Adesola will bring a corporate governance and financial-sector perspective.

The anniversary will bring together policymakers, business executives, media professionals, creatives and other guests who have been associated with Real Talk With Kike since its inception.

According to the organisers, the programme has spent the past seven years providing a platform for discussions on leadership, society, business, relationships, culture and contemporary issues affecting Nigeria.

According to Abati, the October event will combine the programme’s seventh anniversary with a milestone in her broadcasting career, celebrating more than two decades in the Nigerian media industry.
