Nonthaburi declares flood disaster zones in two districts

NONTHABURI — 27 September 2026, Nonthaburi Governor Chettha Molikarat has declared two districts, Mueang Nonthaburi and Pak Kret, disaster zones following flooding caused by continued heavy rain and rising Chao Phraya River levels.

The governor, acting as director of the Nonthaburi Provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Center, signed two separate orders declaring the affected areas flood disaster zones.

The first order, No. 39 for fiscal year 2026, covers parts of Mueang Nonthaburi district.

Flooding was reported on 25 September in residential areas under the jurisdiction of Nonthaburi City Municipality, including Suan Yai, Bang Khen, Bang Kraso, Talat Khwan and Tha Sai subdistricts.

The flooding has affected the public and posed risks to residents’ lives and safety, while also causing damage to private and public property, according to the provincial authorities.

The second order, No. 40 for fiscal year 2026, covers Pak Kret district.

Flooding was reported in residential areas under Pak Kret City Municipality, including Pak Kret, Bang Phut, Bang Talat, Khlong Kluea and Ban Mai subdistricts.

The provincial authorities said the flooding had affected the public and posed risks to residents and property.

The disaster-zone declarations allow government agencies, local authorities and relevant private-sector organizations to take action in the affected areas under Thailand’s Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Act of 2007, national and provincial disaster-management plans and other relevant regulations.

Authorities have been instructed to proceed with necessary measures to assist affected residents as quickly as possible.
