Anwar pays final respects to late brother, Idrus
GEORGE TOWN: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim returned home to pay his final respects to his late brother, Idrus Ibrahim, who passed away yesterday.
He arrived at the family home in Cherok Tokun at 11.05am, greeted by hundreds of people. He was accompanied by his wife Datin Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.
The prime minister received news of his brother's passing while en route back to Malaysia following a three-day official visit to China.

Idrus Ibrahim, 83, passed away peacefully in his sleep at the family home in Cheruk Tokkun.
In a social media tribute, Anwar reflected on the loss of a lifelong companion who shared countless cherished memories, expressing deep sorrow at being unable to stand by his side during his final moments.
Funeral prayers will be held after Friday prayers at the temporary prayer hall of the Cherok Tokun Bawah Mosque, after which he will be laid to rest at the adjacent Cherok Tokun Bawah Muslim cemetery.
