Jannik Sinner Confirms Coaching Split With Darren Cahill

Translate

Jannik Sinner confirmed on Friday that Magnus Norman will replace his long-time coach Darren Cahill, who played a key role in transforming the Italian into one of the world's leading tennis players. In a statement, the world No. 2 said he will conclude his partnership with Cahill, which began in June 2022, at the end of the 2026 season. Working alongside Cahill and Simone Vagnozzi, Sinner has established himself as one of the dominant figures in men's tennis, alongside Spanish star Carlos Alcaraz. At 25, Sinner is already the most successful Italian men's tennis player in history. A five-time Grand Slam champion, he became the first Italian man to win Wimbledon last year.

"I want to thank Darren for his belief in me, his honesty and his dedication. He has helped me grow both as a player and as a person, and his guidance will stay with me throughout my career," Sinner said.

"We have shared so many special moments over the past five years, and while our coaching partnership is coming to an end, our friendship will continue."

Sinner has been sidelined since winning Wimbledon for a second consecutive year in July and subsequently lost the world No. 1 ranking to Alexander Zverev.

The Italian is expected to return to action at the Six Kings Slam in Saudi Arabia, which has been rescheduled for late December.
