SDP welcomes INEC listing of 13 Nasarawa Guber candidates
The Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Nasarawa State has welcomed the listing of its governorship candidate, former Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar Adamu, by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), describing it as a development that has eased uncertainty surrounding the party’s participation in the 2027 general elections.
In a statement titled “Our March to Victory Is Unstoppable,” the Director of Digital Media and Communications of the Mohammed Abubakar Adamu Campaign Organisation, High Chief Otaru Douglas, said INEC’s listing of Adamu as the party’s candidate had addressed speculation following a recent Supreme Court judgment on the eligibility of political parties and their candidates to participate in the elections.
Douglas said the campaign organisation remained focused on engaging voters across the state, adding that it would continue to promote its plans for security, job creation, youth and women’s empowerment, and people-centred governance.
According to him, the campaign would sustain its engagement with residents across wards and communities to explain its policy proposals ahead of the election.
“We congratulate our Principal, the leadership of the SDP at the national and state levels, and our teeming supporters across the 13 Local Government Areas for their steadfastness and loyalty.
“This INEC affirmation is not just a listing; it is a pointer to the inevitable victory that awaits us at the polls and the defeat our opponents are smelling already,” he said.
