Top Indian golfers, including PGTI Order of Merit leader Saptak Talwar, Honey Baisoya, and Veer Ahlawat, will take part in the Bengaluru Open to be held from September 22-25.

The fifth edition of the Bengaluru Open will have a prize money of Rs 1 crore and will feature an overall 132 professionals and one amateur player. The tournament will be played at the Karnataka Golf Association (KGA) in Bengaluru.

Talwar and Ahlawat, meanwhile, will represent India at the Asian Games in Japan along with last year’s PGTI Order of Merit champion Yuvraj Sandhu.

Besides Akshay Sharma, Rashid Khan, and Khalin Joshi, the leading Bengaluru-based professionals in the field are Chikkarangappa S, Akshay Neranjen, Manoj S, Mari Muthu R, and Varun Muthappa.

The local amateur in the field is Tanish R Gowda.

The prominent foreign names competing include Sri Lanka’s N Thangaraja and Mithun Perera, Thailand’s Tanapat Pichaikool, Czech Republic’s Stepan Danek, Nepal’s Subash Tamang, Bangladesh’s Md Akbar Hossain, Uganda’s Joshua Seale, and Japan’s Koichiro Ishika and Taiga Tanaka.

KSLTA announces equipment partnership with Yonex Sunrise

The Karnataka State Lawn Tennis Association (KSLTA) has entered into a strategic partnership with Yonex Sunrise as its equipment partner.

Under the partnership, Yonex Sunrise will support KSLTA-conducted tournaments with tennis balls and equipment, while also providing kits to deserving and promising players identified by KSLTA.

The initiative is aimed at helping young players access quality equipment and creating a stronger pathway for talent development from the grassroots to the competitive level.

The partnership was formally announced at an event at the SM Krishna Tennis Stadium, which also featured a kit distribution ceremony for selected players, followed by an interaction between Yonex Sunrise representatives, KSLTA officials, coaches and academy representatives.
