Watch the highlights from the Italy Under-21 side’s epic 6-2 victory over Poland to guarantee European Championship qualification, including a truly incredible Cher Ndour goal from 70 metres out.

The Azzurrini knew going into the final group game that they needed to win by two clear goals to take first place and direct access to the European Under-21 Championship next summer.

They achieved that in style, hammering six past a Poland team that had conceded only two goals in the previous nine matches.

Fiorentina midfielder Ndour was the start with a brace, including an audacious lob from closer to his own penalty area than the opposition net, and a real contender for the Puskas Award.

It has been calculated at circa 70 metres, around 77 yards, away from the goal-line.

Luca Koleosho, Luca Lipani, Seydou Fini and Luigi Cherubini completed the rout for coach Silvio Baldini’s men, who will compete in the European Under-21 Championship in Albania and Serbia.

The draw for the tournament will be made on November 26, with the competition running from June 16 to July 3, 2027.
